What Does an 87 Year Old Biddle Upright Piano Sound Like?

On craigslist, you won't believe what you can find for free. When moving into a new home (or just whenever you can really), before you go shopping for furniture, check whats available on craigslist for free. You won't regret it. We filled up our house with free stuff - and I am talking quality free stuff.

One time, our roommate, who is also a musician (we all play guitar), was trolling the realm of craigslist.org and he came across a very interesting find. A free, 87 year old Biddle upright piano just a few miles away...

  • A way to transport it
  • A place to put it (we weren't allowed to move anything into our new place yet)
  • The ability to play it before we moved it (it was wrapped up in a box)

The way it happened was actually and amazing string of events, as we didn't have enough man power to even get it to a truck - let alone have a truck (we ended up deciding to sneak into our place before the move in date). The first thing the lady did was call up her husband, who just happened to be driving a uhaul that day and was able to come help us out and get it loaded onto a dolly.  Continue reading...
